A personalised approach
Your experiences, concerns and goals are unique to you, so my approach to working with you will be tailored to your personal situation. I am an integrative psychotherapist and coach using different techniques which can be combined for the best possible outcomes for you.
Psychotherapy & Coaching
You might find it helpful to understand the difference between the therapies I offer and how they work in practice.
Psychotherapy is focused on targeting psychological or emotional problems that cause distress or mental illness. It may require you to examine difficult or traumatic experiences in your past before you can resolve current challenges and move forward. The focus of therapy may also be more on resolving issues in the here and now. It will help you identify the steps you need to take to create the change you want to see in your life.
Coaching is more future focused. It will allow you to explore what’s important to you and what might be standing in the way of your goals. We will build on existing strengths and challenge unhelpful beliefs or behaviours to break old habits or start positive new ones. Through our sessions you will take a fresh perspective on life, and develop valuable skills to build your confidence, self-esteem and resilience.
What to expect
Step 1: Introductory phone call
We will have an initial phone conversation to chat through your questions and expectations. There is no charge for this, and no commitment to proceed if you don’t feel it’s right for you at the moment.
Step 2: Initial consultation
We arrange our first session, either in person, or remotely. During this 50 minute session I will take time to get to know you better and understand your concerns and goals.
Step 3: The plan
Following the initial consultation, I will propose a schedule of sessions (face to face or online), with a plan for addressing the areas you would like to focus on.
